I've searched for the perfect Yin~Yang pendant to adapt for use in a somewhat basic Tahkli... and this is it! The whorl is made from a 1” diameter stainless steel pendant that's had the hoop for bail removed - then it is center drilled and a circular pattern is etched into the surface in order to bounce the light off of it effectively. The Yin~Yang whorl is mounted to a raw steel shaft with a heat forged hook - then it is drilled on the bottom side to remove weight and create a perfect balance. It is then embellished with 8 Preciosa Czech crystal rhinestones, a silver plated bead cap, and silver plated findings on top and bottom sides. This is one of my lighter weight Tahklis and it is wonderfully balanced, fast, and has a long spin time - and it is an excellent spindle for spinning not only cotton, but other short staple fibers as well.
