STEEL SUPPORT BOWL is 3.5" diameter and 1.25" High and made of 1/8" thick solid steel that is press-formed, lathe milled and edge finished - then specially prepared to receive an industrial quality 2-coat oven-baked powder-coat paint in Metallic Teal that is professionally applied for a gorgeous look that will last a lifetime. A Silver Plated Alloy Medallion is adhered to the bottom of the bowl with color matched epoxy resin and a Teal AB Swarovski Crystal is placed in the center (of the medallion).
This bowl is the perfect shape and size for support spindle spinning, it is heavy and stable, and it is a bowl that will last a lifetime.
IMPORTANT: Spinning Surface (Inside Bowl) WILL DULL/SCRATCH with use and develop its own unique patina over time. Bowl can be polish with non-abrasive auto paint polish.
13-PLY BALTIC BIRCH BASE: This base is made from a lathe turned square piece of super-durable Baltic birch plywood that has the sides tapered to expose the striations of the ply, and the center is rounded and cut through to perfectly fit this or any other John Galen support bowl. There are four 3/8" shallow recesses drilled into the bottom of the base and 4 silicone bumpers/feet attached to prevent the base from moving . The base is finished with 3 coats of hand appled General Finishes Arm-R-Seal urethane clear coat that is nearly indestructible. 3.5" (8.9cm) diameter x .55" (14mm) thick
WOOD RING BASE: This is a Natural Birch Wood ring that has the bottom sanded flat and drilled to recess 3 silicone bumpers that provides the bowl with a stable surface to spin from, or display. 3.1" (7.9cm) diameter x .78" (20mm) thick

Beautiful and wonderful support spindle bowl for my John Galen support spindles!! I love how I can use it on a table (with the support ring) and in my lap for comfortable spinning on the go or at home.
