Antique Timepiece (aka Steampunk/ONE OF A KIND) TAHKLI STYLE/SIZE Support Spindle No.167 - Circa 1898 – Columbia Watch Co. White and Light Teal Porcelain Watch Dial with Acrylic Disc and Two-Piece Brass Clock Escapement Wheel Whorl

WEIGHT: 1.0 oz. (31g), WHORL: 1.36” (35) diameter, SHAFT: Smaller Size .100" (2.5mm) diameter x 7.75" (19.7 cm) length in Metallic Teal

Made from 22 individual pieces, the centerpiece of this spindle is a delicate white and light teal color Dial off of a Circa 1898 Columbia Watch Company Ladies size pocket watch. The dial is adorned with authentic vintage and antique watch parts and crystals - then coated in a thick layer of epoxy resin for a no snag/long life finish. PARTS USED: The dial, authentic vintage and antique watch gears and wheels, Swarovski crystal rhinestones, two acrylic discs and two clock escapement wheels (whorl), smaller brass clock gear, a multi-crystal bead spacer, and gold plated findings - all mounted to a metallic teal color powder-coat painted spring steel shaft with a heat forged hook. All components are bonded with an industrial 2-part epoxy adhesive.

This is an extremely well balanced spindle with a smaller diameter whorl, and light to medium weight - and it spins forever - and it will work great for spinning a wide variety of fibers.
NO-HOOK OPTION: Choose at drop down when ordering - removes 1/2" of total length

History of COLUMBIA WATCH COMPANY of Waltham , Massachusetts:
The Columbia Watch Company was a very minor watch company in Waltham, MA and operated between 1896 and1900; its successor was the Suffolk Watch Co. In 1896 The Columbia Watch Co. is founded by Edward A. Locke in Waltham, Massachusetts, and Mr. Locke gives control of the Columbia Watch Co. to his son-in-law, Renton Whidden, in 1898. In August of 1899, a suit is filed by the American Waltham Watch Co. against the Columbia Watch Co. concerning deceitful usage of the "Waltham" name and the court rules the Columbia Watch Co. can no longer use "Waltham" on watches unless it is clearly distinguished from the American Waltham Watch Co. to prevent confusion. In 1900, the Columbia Watch Co. is renamed as the Suffolk Watch Co. August 1899
