Made from 28 individual pieces, this Tahkli (Style) Support Spindle is made with a copper core US Half Dollar coin that has a layer of pink mica tinted epoxy resin poured onto the surface and is adorned with two real gold or platinum plated filigree bead caps, a soft pink faceted glass bead, gold or silver plated findings, and 12 Preciosa Czech crystal rhinestone findings - all mounted to a 7.75" long Metallic Champagne colored steel shaft.
The shaft is hand-made from spring steel with a heat forged hook that is coated with a 2-coat hi-temperature powder-coat paint, and all parts are mounted with industrial 2-part epoxy resin adhesive. This is a lighter weight Tahkli style spindle and it spins fast and long – making it great for not only cotton, but other short and longer/fine staple fibers as well.
