POLICE Public Call BOX - Companion Traveler Support Spindle No.693 (Version 2) - with PLUM VELVET Shaft

- These are HEAVY WEIGHT SPINDLES, at 3.0oz. (85g), WHORL is 1.5" (39mm) diameter, with a LARGER DIAMETER SHAFT = .134” (3.4mm) x 8.3” (21cm)

PLEASE NOTE: This spindle is made with what was a Novelty Die Cast Model Keychain, of which most of them have minor casting defects and imperfections, which is inherent in the manufacturing process.

Starting out its life as a Die-Cast Metal Keychain - it's been transformed into support spindle that will transport you out of this world... Made from a total of 58 individual pieces, this special design incorporates the die-cast metal model, that has been center drilled and fitted with components inside to center it onto one of my signature powder-coat painted high-carbon spring steel shafts with heat forged hook. The new whorl is made from 7 pieces laminated together using 2-part epoxy, and includes two 1/16" thick acrylic discs, a high resolution space print, two 1/16" thick aluminum discs, and one 1/4" thick center acrylic disc with Sapphire Blue and Clear Crystal Rhinestones attached, and one rainbow ion coated pendant on the bottom side. The die cast model is mounted to the whorl and the shaft is finished off top and bottom with a crystal bead spacer, a platinum plated alloy STAR bead cap with CZ Crystals on the bottom side and silver plated findings. FINISHING: I made an epoxy coated mini door sign that's mounted with epoxy resin and care has been taken to seal the sides so it won't snag fiber. 32 of the windows are glazed with mica tinted epoxy to give the appearance of glass, and the lettering has been painted white on all four sides. Finally, 12 Sapphire-AB Preciosa Czech crystal rhinestones are added to the top side of the whorl to bounce off light as the spindle is spun.

Despite its wibbly-wobbly, timey-wimey appearance, this is a well balanced, HEAVY WEIGHT SPINDLE that has a good long spin time will plenty of weight for spinning a wide variety of fibers.
