These very special Doctor Who inspired spindles started out its life as 3D printed miniature that was designed and printed for me in Middle Aston, Oxfordshire, England - and it's been transformed into lightweight Tahkli style support spindle that will transport you out of this world! Made from a total of 30 individual pieces, this special design incorporates the 3D printed lightweight plastic miniature that's painted Tardis Blue with hand painted tiny "POLICE Public Call BOX" lettering. The miniature is center drilled and fitted to fit one of my signature powder-coat painted high-carbon spring steel shafts with heat forged hook. The whorl is made from 7 pieces laminated together using 2-part epoxy, and includes two acrylic discs, a high resolution outer-space print, two aluminum discs, and one Mexico 10 Peso Coin and (shaft color) mica tinted epoxy in the center - along with one rainbow ion coated gear at the very bottom side. The 3D miniature mounted to the whorl and the shaft is finished off top and bottom with a crystal bead spacers and silver plated findings.

FINISHING: The miniatures are prepped and painted with an additional coat of spray lacquer for durability, and I made an epoxy coated mini door sign that's mounted with epoxy resin with special care to seal the sides so it won't snag fiber. All 48 of the windows are hand painted with white tinted epoxy, and the lettering has been painted white on all four sides. Finally, 12 Black Diamond AB color Preciosa Czech crystal rhinestones are added to the top side of the whorl to bounce off light as the spindle is spun.

Despite its wibbly-wobbly, timey-wimey appearance, this is a well balanced, light to medium weight Tahkli size spindle that has most the weight tucked in toward the center line and a smaller diameter shaft for a fast and good long spin time will that is good for a variety of fine short and longer staple fibers.
