This is my latest version of a traditional/basic Tahkli Support Spindle - made with a Colorful Flair. The whorl is made from a 1.25” diameter solid Acrylic Disc and two large (29mm) Gold-Plated Bead Caps for a whorl. Inside the top and bottom sides of the bead caps - you will find a vibrantly colored faceted glass bead and several small findings to center said beads. To finish it off, the top and bottom sides are adorned with gold-plated findings and, after assembly, the RAW/UN-COATED high-carbon spring steel shaft with a heat forged hook is polished smooth and treated with a rust inhibitor spray. All parts are mounted with industrial 2-part epoxy and all edges/seams have been epoxy glued to assure your fiber will not get caught in the jewelry pieces. This is a light to medium weight Tahkli size spindle that spins fast and an excellent choice for spinning not only cotton, but other fine fibers as well.
