This Tahkli (Style) Support Spindle is made with either a 1.2” diameter Dark Bronze or Chrome Plated Alloy Whorl (disc) and is adorned with a very fine-quality cast Celtic Horses medallion and gold-tone (plated) alloy findings . The shaft is hand-made from spring steel with a heat forged hook that is coated with a 2-coat hi-temperature powder-coat paint. All parts are mounted with industrial 2-part epoxy. This is a medium weight Tahkli style spindle and it spins fast and long – making it great for not only cotton, but other short staple fibers and fibers such as silk and fine wool.

Extremely high quality and absolutely stunning to look at. I knew I wanted a John Galen Takhli and fell in love with the Celtic horses. This spindle is well balanced and spins very easily. Doubt I’ll ever buy another Takhli unless my budget allows for another by John Galen. His work is exquisite as well as highly functional. The packaging is super nice too. Very much like opening a fine gift. Obviously talented maker who also cares about presentation.
